The Journey

Ashmi considers herself a creative; and abstract watercolour art is one of her many canvases. She is inspired by the Mediterranean; and the principles of flow, femininity and surrender that interplay in the process of making art.

Her artistic process is essentially instinctive and playful; from the colours that inform her practice; to the methods she adopts.

She works with a variety of papers, fabrics & blocks to achieve a sense of layering and ‘tapestry’ in her work; a tapestry that informs her own understanding of the world & humanity at large.

She has showcased her work at both online and offline exhibits across Athens,London,Malta & India. Her works have been displayed at the Holy Art Gallery, at Cavalieri & Phoenicia’s dedicated art spaces as well as artsorbet.com.

In 2024, Ashmi was long-listed for the Emerging Artist Award (Visual Artists Association).
